Hey Steve, the GoodWordGuy here.
I found the perfect beginning for my “life trauma journaling website”, the definition of Therapeutic Journaling.
Therapeutic journaling is the process of writing down our thoughts and feelings about our personal experiences. This kind of private reflection allows us to sort through events that have occurred and problems that we may be struggling with. It allows us to come to a deeper understanding about ourselves, with a different perspective on these difficulties. Therapeutic journaling differs from more traditional diary writing, which involves recording the details of daily events.
In contrast, therapeutic journaling is an internal process of using the written word to express the full range of emotions, reactions, and perceptions we have related to difficult, upsetting, or traumatic life events. Along the way, this can mean writing ourselves to better emotional and physical health and a greater sense of well-being. This reference is from the VA Benefits and Healthcare, Whole Health Library, Therapeutic Journaling.
As you read my journal from page to page you will discover the entire site is indeed Therapeutic Journaling. Just as the definition implies, my journaling became my road to better emotional and physical well being. I beat cancer twice and a few other life traumas that turned out to be the foundation of “The Soft Skilled Living Wellness Plan©” I wrote for myself. You also will have the same opportunity to write the 7 step wellness plan for yourself at the end of the journal.
